Carro has opened its first authorised service centre dedicated to Zeekr vehicles in Sri Damansara, extending the partnership between the two companies beyond new-car sales and into aftersales support in Malaysia.

Carro was appointed an authorised Zeekr dealer in 2025. The new facility marks the next step in that relationship, giving Zeekr owners access to scheduled maintenance, repairs, body and paint work, technical assistance and warranty support through a dedicated service operation.

Built around EV aftersales requirements

The Sri Damansara facility is equipped to handle periodic maintenance, advanced software diagnostics and preventative servicing, alongside body and paint repairs carried out according to factory requirements. Technical and warranty support is handled by certified EV technicians.

While electric vehicles still require conventional work involving tyres, suspension, air-conditioning and chassis components, their aftersales requirements also extend to high-voltage systems, traction batteries, electronic controls and software diagnostics. That makes technician training and specialised workshop equipment increasingly important as EV ownership grows.

During a visit to the facility, Move Auto observed multiple service bays and vehicle lifts, along with tyre and other workshop equipment. A high-voltage EV battery pack was also visible inside the workshop, illustrating the different components that may be encountered in an EV service environment.

An ABB Terra AC charging unit is installed at the facility as well. Its equipment label indicates a maximum AC charging output of 22kW. However, no information has been announced on whether the charger is intended solely for workshop operations or is also available for visiting customers.

Aftersales capacity becomes part of EV expansion

Fong Hon Sum, CEO of International Marketplace at Carro, said aftersales care is becoming increasingly important as Malaysia’s EV market develops.

He said Carro’s existing experience in vehicle repair, maintenance and body work gives the company a foundation to support more complex service requirements through its first dedicated Zeekr service centre.

Zeekr Malaysia General Manager Eddy Lu said the brand’s dedicated aftersales network needs to expand alongside its growing owner base in Malaysia. He added that the partnership with Carro strengthens both Zeekr’s retail presence and its long-term ownership support.

The Zeekr Service Centre Sri Damansara is located in the Bandar Sri Damansara industrial area.

Move Auto's Take

Launching a showroom is only the first part of establishing an EV brand in a new market.

As more vehicles reach customers, ownership increasingly depends on what happens after the sale: routine maintenance, accident repair, software diagnostics, high-voltage system support and parts availability. For newer brands that are still building scale in Malaysia, the quality and reach of the aftersales network can matter as much as the number of retail outlets.

Carro and Zeekr’s move from sales into dedicated aftersales support is another sign that Malaysia’s EV market is maturing. Competition is gradually shifting from simply launching more models to building the infrastructure needed to support owners over the longer term.
