AG Autoworld will hold an AG Club Merdeka Family Convoy on 22 August 2026, taking a limited group of members from Johor Bahru to Kuala Lumpur for a day of family activities.

Participation is capped at the first 25 cars, representing 25 families. The organiser says each family will receive activities and benefits worth more than RM400. Although the event is sponsored, registration requires a RM50 refundable deposit. It will be returned after attendance, while no-shows will forfeit the payment.

Morning convoy followed by family activities

According to the official event artwork, registration begins at AG e.MAS Plentong at 7:30am before the convoy departs at 8:30am. Groups from Proton Kluang and Proton Batu Pahat are scheduled to join at 9:30am.

The convoy is due to arrive at Makan Makan by Hock Kee in Bangsar South at 12:30pm. A Little Chef Workshop will give children an opportunity to make kaya butter toast. Participants then depart for Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur at 3pm, followed by a group photo and free-and-easy session from 4pm.

Listed benefits include the workshop, two complimentary Skyline Luge tickets for each family and a free CARS International car wash for the first 25 registered cars. No current availability figure was supplied, so the announcement should not be read as confirmation that registration remains open.

Dealer membership moves beyond service discounts

Established in 2025, AG Club is AG Autoworld's lifestyle membership programme. The company says customers who buy a vehicle from its outlets become lifetime members, with partnerships spanning dining, travel, health, entertainment and community activities.

AG Autoworld was founded in 2019 and represents automotive brands including PROTON, Proton e.MAS and smart in southern Malaysia. The Merdeka convoy is organised by the dealer group; it is not a nationwide event run by PROTON.

Move Auto's Take

Dealer loyalty programmes once centred mainly on service discounts. Family outings, dining and travel partnerships show how some retailers now view owner communities as another part of aftersales competition. For participants, clear mechanics matter as much as the benefits — particularly the limited allocation and the RM50 deposit that is refunded only after attendance.
